Target: Junior Form Students (Form 1 to Form 3)
Preliminary Round: 13th July 2015 (Mon) [Format: MC]
Final Round: 5th August 2015 (Wed) [Format: Toss-up Questions]
Rules: (a) 3 students per team (maximum 2 teams per school)
(b) Answer all questions in different science disciplines
(c) 15 teams with the highest score in the preliminary round
can enter the semi-final round.
Only English version is available for the sample experiment question, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. For the final round, both Chinese and English versions are available.

For fairness sake, the question set of this session is identical to the round in the morning. Therefore, each school can apply only either one of the sessions, i.e. if 2 teams participate in the competition, they have to attend the same session. Please note that due to the high demand for venues in HKU, if there are fewer than 60 teams applying this second session, we are not eligible to hold this session. Please accept our apology.
Semi-Final Round:
** 15 Teams with the highest score in the preliminary round can enter the semi-final round.
Date: 5/8/2015 (Wed)
Time: Morning
Venue: HKU Campus
Format: Toss-up, Multiple Choice & Short Questions
Medium: Chinese with English translations of some scientific words
- 15 Teams are separated into 5 big groups to perform the semi-final competition (in other words, 3 teams will compete for 1 seat in the final round session)
- the 5 semi-final round will be held at the same time in different venues in HKU campus
- the results of the semi-final round will be announced in two hours after the competition
- winners of the semi-final round (6 teams) can then enter the Final Round
- other students and teachers are welcome to watch the Final Round of the competition
Final Round:
** 6 Teams which win in the semi-final round can enter the final round.

Venue: HKU Campus
Format: Toss-up, Multiple Choice, Short Questions & Short Presentation
Medium: Chinese with English translations of some scientific words
- Short presentation: oral presentation of designing experiments with response to the questions
- the results of the final round will be announced in 15 to 30 minutes after the competition
- other students and teachers are welcome to watch the Final Round of the competition
